How do you recommend propping up the trailer for installation?
A few suggestions we have for propping up your trailer are using your existing jack, a stabilizer block, jack stands, or wood blocks. You will need at least 16–18 inches of height to properly install the JX.
Can the center jack (JXC) be welded rather than bolted?
Yes, at your discretion. However, welding the unit will void any warranty and return eligibility.
Do I need to grease the gears before use?
No, the JX comes pre-lubricated. We recommend greasing the internal gear system every 90 days. Please refer to the product manual for instructions.
What is the load capacity of the JX?
JX2-C & JX2-S: 1,200 lb standard lift, 600 lb lift with power drill, and 2,000 lb static capacity.
JX5-C & JX5-S: 1,600 lb standard lift, 800 lb lift with power drill, and 5,000 lb static capacity.
What is the recommended drill torque setting?
We recommend using the lowest torque setting that still effectively lifts the trailer. Heavier trailers will require higher torque settings.
Does the JX come with a caster wheel?
Each JX comes standard with a footplate. A wheel attachment (TVJXMW) is available as an optional upgrade.
Does the JX Center Mount come with bolts for installation?
Yes. All JX Center models include three bolts and lock washers for mounting to your trailer frame.
What type of mount bracket comes with the JX2-S and JX5-S?
The JX2-S comes with a spring-loaded pull pin swivel bracket, designed to fit trailer frames up to 4.75 inches high and 3.75 inches deep.
The JX5-S uses the same bracket dimensions and includes a pipe mount and stow pin. It is also compatible with the optional TVJLMB (sold separately) for frames up to 5.75 inches. Both require at least 8 inches of clearance to install.
What is the best position for the JX5-S mount bracket to be installed?
The connection point should be installed in the low position for best results. It may be flipped to the high position depending on frame needs.
How much does the JX weigh?
JX2-S: 23 lbs
JX5-S: 25 lbs
JX2-C: 14 lbs
JX5-C: 14 lbs
Can the JX be submerged in water?
The JX can be briefly submerged. If used in salt water, rinse thoroughly with fresh water afterward to prevent corrosion.
Can the JX be stored outdoors?
Yes, the JX features three layers of weather protection and is safe to store outdoors with your trailer.
What kind of drill should I use with the JX?
Use any 20V–24V compact, non-impact drill with the Trailer Valet drill attachment for smooth powered operation.
